Distribución y ambientes de Batrachyla taeniata (Girard) en Chile, (Anura Leptodactylidae)

Resumen

Batrachyla taeniata se distribuye en un rango norte-sur de 1570 km entre las latitudes 32° 54' y 45° 25' Sur. Damos a conocer 13 localidades nuevas, 8 en el sector norte y 5 en el Bosque Temperado Austral. Las poblaciones nuevas del norte están asociadas con la estepa de Acacia. Los límites de la distribución actual parecen determinados por restricciones sobre el proceso reproductivo, ejercidos por el total de las precipitaciones anuales en el norte y por las temperaturas mínimas en el sur. Las poblaciones de B. taeniata son más frecuentes entre Concepción y Puerto Montt (37° a 42° S) y la Isla de Chiloé (42° a 43° S).

Abstract

The range of Batrachyla taeniata is 1570 km long between 32° 54' and 45° 25' S. We report 13 new localities, 8 on the northern sector and 5 on the temperate Austral Forest. Northern populations are associated to the steppe of Acacia. Actual limits of distribution appear to be determined by restrictions on the reproductive process, imposed by total annual rainfall in the north and by minimum temperatures, in the south. Populations of B. taeniata are more frequent between Concepcion and Puerto Montt (37° to 42° S) and Chiloe Island (42°43° S).
