Se comunica el hallazgo de dos nuevas familias para la ictiofauna chilena: Diretmidae con Diretmus argenteus Johnson, 1863 recolectada frente a Coquimbo (29° 57' S; 71° 25' W) y Scombrolabracidae con Scombrolabrax lieterolepis Roule, 1922 capturada en las cercanías de la Isla de Pascua (28° 03' S; 108° 58' W). Se entregan mayores antecedentes morfometricos, meristicos y extensión de rango geográfico norte hasta frente a la Isla Llenihuenu (44° 01' S; 75° 16' W) del carapido Echiodon eryomargarites Marklc, Williams y Olncy, 1983 que con anterioridad se conocía solo frente a la Isla Otway (53° 13' S; 75° 41' W) para Chile.
The first record of Dirctmidac and Scombrolabracidae from Easter-South Pacific is communicated. The former with Diretmus argenteus Johnson, 1863 captured off Coquimbo (29° 57' S; 71° 25' W) and the Iatter with Scombrolabrax heterolepis Roule, 1922 captured off Easter Island (28° 03' S; 108° 50' W). New data and an extention of the north limits range to off Llenihuenu island (440 01' S; 75° 16' W) of the carapid Echiodon eryomargarites Markle, Williams and Olney, 1983isgiven, previously was known only off Otway Island (53° 13' S; 75° 41' W), in Chile.
