Clave taxonómica ilustrada de las especies chilenas de Parastacidae (Crustacea, Decapoda, Astacidea)

Resumen

Las siete especies de camarones de río de la Familia Parastacidae que habitan las aguas dulces de Chile se agrupan en los géneros: Samastacus (1), Parastacus (2) y Virilastacus (4). La creciente actividad antrópica que actualmente se observa en el centro-sur de nuestro país está degradando, fragmentando y disminuyendo la extensión geográfica de sus respectivos hábitats, lo que finalmente pone en riesgo su conservación. En este trabajo se recopila y sistematiza información sobre los rasgos morfológicos externos más conspicuos de los camarones de río en general y de las especies chilenas en particular, con los objetivos de: 1) generar una clave ilustrada que facilite la identificación de estas siete especies, y que a su vez permita distinguir la eventual ocurrencia de especies exóticas de Astacidea en las aguas dulces de Chile; y 2) promover su conocimiento y conservación.

Abstract

Illustrated taxonomic key of the Chilean species of Parastacidae (Crustacea, Decapoda, Astacidea). The seven species of freshwater crayfishes of the Parastacidae family, which inhabit the fresh waters of Chile, are grouped in the genera Samastacus (1), Parastacus (2) and Virilastacus (4). The increasing anthropic activity that is currently observed in the center-south of our country is degrading, fragmenting and reducing the geographic extent of their respective habitats, which ultimately jeopardizes their conservation. This work compiles and systematizes information on the most conspicuous external morphological traits of crayfishes in general and of Chilean species in particular, with the objectives of: 1) generating an illustrated key that facilitates the identification of these seven species, and which in turn allows to distinguish the eventual occurrence of exotic species of Astacidea in the freshwater of Chile; and 2) promote their knowledge and conservation
