Familia Orchidaceae de la Región de Aisén, incluyendo chloraea × flavovirens g. Rojas & j.m. Watson, nothosp. Nov., y Nuevos Registros

Resumen

Se analiza la familia Orchidaceae de la Región de Aisén para documentar cuántas y qué especies están presentes. G. R., la autora principal, logró las siguientes actividades de la investigación. Se realizaron campañas de terreno abarcando el máximo de ambientes de esta región; se recolectaron especímenes; se revisaron los herbarios de la Universidad de Concepción y del Museo Nacional de Historia Natural; y se revisó la literatura. Como resultado se actualizaron los nombres científicos y se encontraron 22 taxa. Dos de ellos han sido citadas sin tener especímenes en herbarios. De los 20 restantes, todos tienen registros en los herbarios CONC y SGO, y la mayoría fueron recolectados para este trabajo. Se da a conocer un híbrido natural, Chloraea×flavovirens G. Rojas y J.M. Watson, nothosp. nov., y dos nuevos registros para la región, Chloraea speciosa Poepp., y Gavilea kingii (Hook. f.) M.N. Correa. Esta área del país es tan diversa en especies de orquídeas como cualquiera de las regiones centrales de Chile. Eventualmente podrían existir aún más especies en esta región.

Abstract

The Orchidaceae family of Aisén Region was studied analytically to determine the quantity and identities of its species present there. To achieve this objective the main author (G. R) undertook the following activities: a series of field explorations covering the maximum number of different environments in the region, when specimens were gathered; reviews of herbarium material at CONC and SGO; and extraction of information from the literature. As a result, scientific names are updated and 22 species in total recorded, two of which have been cited without supporting herbarium specimens, while the remaining 20 are all recorded in the herbaria of either CONC or SGO, with the majority collected from Aisén Region during this project. A new natural hybrid, Chloraea× flavovirens G. Rojas and J.M. Watson, comb. nov. is described. In addition notification of two new records for the region is provided: Chloraea speciosa Poepp., and Gavilea kingii (Hook. f.) M.N. Correa. The conclusion reached here is that this sector of the country contains as diverse a range of orchid taxa as any of the central regions of Chile, and that probably more species yet are likely to be discovered in the future.
