Falco sparverius L.: rapaz generalista en Chile Central

Resumen

Se compara la diversidad trófica de Falco sparverius en dos poblaciones de Chile central y con otras aves predadoras. Los resultados sugieren que F. sparverius consume sus presas de acuerdo con su abundancia en el terreno. Esta conducta aparentemente resulta en una alta diversidad trófica en comparación con los otros predadores considerados.

Abstract

The trophic diversity of Falco sparverius is compared between two Chilean populations and with others avian predatory species. Results suggest thatF. sparverius conmmts its prey in about their abundance in the field. This behavior seemingly results in ttie high trophic diversity of F. sparverius in comparison to the oflier predators considered.
